Suryodaya Urja participated on 5 days 12th National Industrial Trade Fair, Cottage Industry Festival, and Renewable Energy Week- 2014 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. The fair which began on 6th February 2014 was organized jointly by the Alternative energy Promotion Center (AEPC) and the Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industry (FNCSI). Suryodaya Urja offered ranges of Solar PV Solutions from Small Solar Home System to Institutional Solar PV System to the visitors at the trade fair with special discount. Apart from it, visitors paid special attention to the recently introduced urban subsidy program on solar PV systems by AEPC. At the closing ceremony of the fair, Suryodaya Urja was awarded “The Best Quality Service Providing Solar PV Company” by AEPC. This is a formal recognition of the efforts done by the Suryodaya Urja team over the years to provide sustainable solar energy solutions including proper after-sales services. The annual staff meeting of Suryodaya Urja P. Ltd. was held on Friday, August 9th 2013 at Diyalo Party Palace, Basundhara, Kathmandu. Following the welcome speech by Director Mr. Nabin Bhujel, Managing Director Mr. Ram Bahadur Bhandari talked about the overall company activities and company performance during the past fiscal year 2069/ 2070.   Appreciating the dedication shown by the company staffs, he pointed out that there is still a long way to go to tackle the new challenges brought about by the stiff competition from over 120 companies involved in the sector.  He also declared that the salary of staffs will be increased by at least 15% to all the permanent staffs and mentioned that the board of directors has decided to provide a bonus of 2 months to all eligible staffs.    His speech was followed by an open discussion session covering all aspects of the company including problems faced by the staffs. The management answered all the queries raised by staffs. On the occasion, company also provided certificate of appreciation along with 50 thousand cash prize to all staffs completing 10 years service in the company. The program ended with a luncheon party.

A week long final Inspection of the Grid connect solar PV power plant in Kirtipur was carried out by the system integrator Coretec Inc. along with the system installer Suryodaya Urja and other partner organisations from June 26 to July 5 2013. The power generation station which was completed a year ago was found to be running smoothly. On the final day of inspection one of the solar modules was noticed damaged, which was replaced the following day. Apart from annual inspection Suryodaya Urja is carrying out a monthly inspection for smooth operation of the solar power plant until August 2013 after which all inspection activities also come under the beneficiary KUKL.

Today, villagers of Kantipur, Indrabasti and South Ayodhyapuri located in Ayodhyapuri VDC of Madi, Chitwan organized a ceremony to mark the inauguration of Shree Baikunthe Gadhimai Bhagawati Underground Drinking Water Supply Project. The two Solar PV pumping systems (one in Kantipur and another in Indrabasti) implemented under the project are designed, installed and commissioned by Suryodaya Urja Pvt. Ltd. in turnkey basis. Each system pumps over 23,000 liters of water from underground boreholes to the overhead tanks built on 20m high towers.The vertical head of both the systems is around 50 meters. The 30,000 liter tanks on the two towers store enough water to supply to over 275 families residing in the three villages. The clean drinking water from the tanks are distributed through 42 tap posts. The project funded by the Danish NGO ‘Jysk landsbyudvikling I Nepal’ working under the active guidance of the chairperson Ms. Lone Petersen was inaugurated by Mr. Jens Ove Frederiksen, Regional Senior Business Development Manager (Water Utility – Asia Pacific Region) of the world famous pump manufacturers – Grundfos.
